Bio

Bin Gui, a violinist from Qingdao, China, currently resides in the New York area. She is a core member of the New Haven Symphony and the Syracuse Orchestra and holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied under renowned teachers Glenn Dicterow, Lisa Kim, David Chan, and Lucie Robert.

Bin has participated in prestigious summer music festivals, including the Texas Music Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, Orford Academy, and MusicAlps. She has performed as an orchestral musician at Carnegie Hall and the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts, and she has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians including Glenn Dicterow, David Kim, Stephen Rose, Andrzej Grabiec, James Dunham, and Levon Chilingirian.

While students of all ages are welcome, those with a few years of learning will especially benefit from these lessons.

I adopt a problem-solving approach to teaching, emphasizing the importance of understanding the most effective methods of practice. My focus is on guiding students to identify and overcome their specific challenges, enabling them to practice “the smart way.” I prioritize fundamental training, which lays a solid foundation for skill development and ensures that students acquire the essential techniques needed for long-term success.
