Bio

I am a professional musician and educator with 15 years of playing experience, 11 years of professional performance experience, and 10 years of educational experience.

I began playing the trumpet in Waterville, ME in 2010. Since 2015, I have been giving private trumpet lessons. Upon moving to Greenville, SC I began giving masterclass and clinics with the Greenville jazz collective at local public schools, private schools, and universities. I continued giving masterclasses and clinics with the One O’Clock lab band at the University of North Texas between 2019 and 2021.

After graduating from UNT in 2022, I moved to Dallas, TX and began teaching masterclasses as a guest artist and private lessons in Dallas public schools as an alumni representative of UNT. In Dallas, I maintained residencies at several iconic local venues and was featured as a guest artist around town.

Upon moving to New York City in the fall of 2024, I maintain a freelance studio and am a graduate adjunct instructor at New York University where I will complete my master’s degree in 2026.

Teaching Info

Teaching the student to teach themselves is a critical and sometimes overlooked, or withheld, topic. My teaching styles revolves around critical thinking, problem-solving and goal-setting. I try to make creative processes as clear and specific as possible. Great emphasis is placed on identifying the student’s weaknesses, and constructively focusing on those areas in ways that are satisfying and stimulating.

My lessons involve a lot of aural and theoretical instruction. No matter the student’s, instrument, goals, level or age I believe they should have a natural understanding of how and why music works and feels the way it does.
