Bio

Celine (Suh Yeon) Kang was born in Seoul, South Korea; where she started her career as a guitarist, producer and a composer. Mainly focusing on gospel, r&b, and pop music, she has built her experience as a professional musician through working as a recording artist and session musician. Now studying at The New School’s School of Jazz and Contemporary Music with Joe Morris, Darius Jones, Steve Cardenas and more, she has been expanding her spectrum to jazz and improvised music; as well as composing and releasing her own work. She is also continuing with diverse works including but not limited to musical theaters, live performance, and music production – working with musicians in scenes of New York.

Material and curriculum will be decided based on the student’s current level and goal, pace and frequency will change according to the goal and the student’s situation. I like working in environment where it is not pressuring but it is a healthy amount of push to encourage the students to continue to be engaged and like working on things that respects the student’s interests in specific fields and styles.
