Born in Sweden, Emma Larsson started learning piano at the age of 8, and it was love at first sight! She knew since her early years, that music was going to play a major role in her life. At 14, Emma started to play saxophone, and joined wind orchestras and big bands, but piano was her main instrument. After high school, Emma moved to Ostrava in Czech Republic and studied at the music conservatory there for a year pursuing studies on classical piano.
Ms. Larsson has recorded and performed with many well-known artists in many countries, and is now working as a NYC based jazz singer and composer. She holds a Master of Education in Music degree from Lulea University, Sweden, and a Master of Music in Jazz studies from the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Finland.
Before moving to New York City in 2010, Emma was teaching at the Music Conservatory of Oulu and the University of Applied Science in Joensuu in Finland, as well as giving workshops and masterclasses around the country. Her teaching and performing experiences have taken her around the world including Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, and South Africa, and she can now be heard performing in many of the best jazz clubs in NYC.
