Bio
Natsha Siri is an online piano teacher based in the West Coast of the United States. Growing up, she always had a deep passion for music and the arts. After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Ethnomusicology (the study of world music and cultures), she relocated to Illinois where she discovered a love for teaching music. After 4 years of teaching private piano lessons at a music school, Natsha wanted to start her own business back in her hometown of Torrance, CA. Natsha Siri is also an active member of the Music Teachers Association of CA, which allows her to enroll students in the Certificate of Merit Testing, Branch Recitals, and other MTAC-Related events. Natsha has worked with all age levels (children and adults), and looks forward to opening up her schedule to students living anywhere based in the United States of America.
Teaching Info
Hello, it’s Natsha! First of all, I want all of my students to love music. It’s very important to me that they themselves desire to learn piano on their own. I always ask my students what they want to play in addition to their basic reading and method books. Also, I make sure my students learn proper foundation and technique so that it can be a forever tool for them if they decide to not take piano anymore, but still want to play during their free time. I’m very patient, firm, and energetic during my lessons. I always try to find different ways of teaching a particular concept (espeucalyptus since everyone learns differently). I like it when my students practice, it keeps me happy and we continue to progress together every lesson. Sometimes I know my students are busy or have other extracurricular activities, so I try my best to provide them with practice tips that are efficient and less time consuming to help balance piano into their lives. I believe in quality over quantity. A student can practice an hour a day but that kind of practice might not be as effective as a deep practice session that can happen for even just 15 minutes per day. Therefore, I teach my students a particular way of practicing which has helped them grow faster as novice pianists. I like to push and challenge my students but I do it in a way that doesn’t seem forceful, or intimidating. At the end of the day, the student knows what they need to do in order to reach their goals. It’s up to them and the time they put in, and I am simply their mentor. If you are interested in online piano lessons, please feel free to contact me anytime. Thank you!
