Bio

Hello! My name is Jonathan Bloomfield and I am a professional violinist living on the upper west side of manhattan.

As a violin teacher, my students have earned accolades ranging from principal chairs in festival orchestral ensembles to scholarships for top college conservatory programs.

I studied violin at NYU Steinhardt with Gregory Fulkerson and have a masters degree in violin performance from Brooklyn College Conservatory where I studied with Masao Kawasaki. Additionally, I have a graduate degree in Music Education from Queens College: Aaron Copland School of Music.

As a teacher, I focus on strong technical fundamentals consisting of scales, exercises, and etudes. Additionally, I specialize in violin literature (unaccompanied, duo sonata, show piece, concerto, etc) and believe in a balanced approach when in comes to guiding a student through new repertoire.

I have experience teaching all ages and levels of violin performance and am excited to work with you to accomplish your specific goals.
