Bio
Richard Thai is a New York City based saxophonist and educator originally from New Zealand. After graduating from the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College in 2015 Richard has worked as a freelance performer, arranger, ensemble coach and private instructor in both New Zealand and the United States.

Teaching Info
Richard Thai has maintained a private studio of saxophone students of all ages and abilities.
Beginner: Tone production, reading music notation, introduction to basic music theory, playing by ear, singing melodies.
Intermediate to Advanced: Emphasis on fundamentals (time, tone and technique), introduction to jazz and classical repertoire, preparation for auditions (high school/college) and practicing effectively.
Lessons are fun, progressive and most of all tailored to meet the student’s needs. Lesson length (30, 45 or 60min), frequency (weekly, fortnightly) and location negotiable.
